I was looking for a baby blanket pattern that looked impressive yet would be easy and quick to make. I hunted all over and whilst I found several beautiful crocheted baby blanket patterns, none just seemed right for the recipient.
I wanted a really unique crochet pattern. In today’s modern world more a stroller or car seat sized blanket, yet could be used for those glorious days when out and about with a pram. Whilst I do not claim to be a professional crochet designer I am a crochet hobbyist and addict, crochet is my passion. I love to experiment and come up with crochet designs, that get shared around, thus leading to people contacting me and asking to help them or if I have a pattern for them. I spent more time via emails and face book answering questions about my work, I decided to create this blog to help inspire and help others to create beautiful crocheted pieces of work. So sometimes the patterns will be written as how I have made and understood and interpreted them. Sometimes I may even make something, Not take notes and need to go back and work out what i did.

I have a future project coming up to address this – i was looking for a baby blanket pattern that looked impressive yet would be easy and quick to make. I have made these dolls to look like Elsa and Ana from frozen with matching colours, but being left handed I can not figure out how to make the crocodile stitch they are upside down and backwards. 5 x treble, ch 3 picots in V stitch, sc in next v stitch around. 4inch ribbon around the Double crochet posts. Tie off neatly into a small bow. I’ve now finished the last of the shell rounds and I’m ready to make the border, but I’m afraid I don’t really understand the instructions. What does “work double crochet around the border of your completed blanket” mean? Does it mean do double crochets in every stitch all around the edge? It would really help if you could show us a closeup photo of the border. I hope you’ll be able to add that if you can find the time! Hi Angela yes work a double crochet stitch evenly around your blankets edge. You will find at times, you will be working into the sides of stitches but as long as it is even the blanket is now with its new owner and I am not sure if I took close ups of the border I will need to go look through my photos .
